European roofing and waterproofing industry

Today, our members are the leading producers of bitumen membranes, bitumen shingles and synthetic membranes in Europe. Associations registered in Europe with members who produce waterproofing material in Europe are also members of WE. Organisations registered outside Europe, but engaged in the manufacturing of waterproofing material could apply for WE membership as associated members.
Our industry employs 20,000 people and has an estimated annual turnover of about 10 billion Euros in Europe. The products of our members in the sector of bitumen membranes command more than 70 % share of the European flat roofing market, they are estimated to cover annually over 200 million square meters of roof area. They are installed by a workforce of over 40,000 trained applicators. |
